The WineryThrall & Dodge Winery is the oldest farm winery in the Kittitas Valley located north of the Yakima Valley near Ellensburg. We produce premium wines grown, made, cellared, and bottled all from the Columbia Valley AVA. Located South of Ellensburg and just east of the Yakima River, the Thrall & Dodge Winery is perched on Manastash Ridge 1500 ft level near the intersection of Boylston and Saddle Mountains. This scenic area is known as the fruit basket of Kittitas Valley with plenty of other vineyards and orchards around. The winery enjoys a regional view looking out to the Valley and the Stuart Mountain Range. In order to continue concentrate on our daily tasks in the vineyard and the winery, we are only open on the weekends. Please see our Wine Shop page for ways to purchase our wines.

Troy GoodreauWinemakerTroy’s love of wine began early and was encouraged by family and friends. He apprenticed under Manfred Vierthaler helping him build a winery in exchange for winemaking instruction at the tender age of 19. He also planted his first vineyard of over 400 vines in the Hood Canal region. Troy’s wine education continued at Napa Valley College for Enology where he refined his winemaking style. While in California, Troy entered amateur wine competitions in Napa Valley and near UC Davis where he won first, second, and third for his Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and blends. At this point Troy had an opportunity to move back to the Kittitas Valley where he established the Thrall & Dodge Winery in 2005.
